PURPOSE-DRIVEN NAT'L. CONGRESS 2006

July 25, 2006 marked another milestone in Philippine history (esp. in the Christian community) as Rick Warren and his team came for the Purpose-Driven National Congress 2006. BTW, Rick Warren is the author behind the phenomenal book, PURPOSE-DRIVEN LIFE and the head pastor of Saddleback Church in California. We in CGS (that's our church) went to the ULTRA and joined the event despite of the typhoon. But, it was all worth it ! It is always great to be a part of something life-changing. :)

Rick Warren while signing up autographs....(i was right in front!) :) one great thing i learned from him : " REACH ONE MORE FOR JESUS! "

Ptr. Rick Muchow in one of his heartfelt numbers... I love the way he played the guitar-- one of the best ! galing!

great praise and worship started the event....

PORTRAITS OF ASIA by Manny Librodo

hi. there!!! long time, no post, hehe! BTW, last July 1, some of us @ BAHAY NAKPIL went to the Manny Librodo exhibit in Makati. Honestly, i dont know much about Manny and haven't seen any of his works before either. I just knew that he's one of the super photographers when my classmate told me so. When we met him, i learned that he's an Ilonggo pala (that explains his malambing accent ;) and teaches in an international school in Bangkok. when i've seen his portraits, it was the EYES that struck me -- They're so expressive, simply beautiful !

guests during the exhibit...

kuya bong, kuya lito and terrie... ;)

"INNOCENCE" --my most favorite among all of his works! I really love the eyes...

here's the man behind the well-applauded exhibit...MANNY LIBRODO! Kaka-INPIRE!!! That's how i felt after having seen all his masterpieces and having read the article about him in the Manila Bulletin just a day ago. Maybe it was because I see much of myself in him. Here are d proofs, hehe!

1. "He likes capturing FACES in their most eye-catching MOMENTS." -- well, me too! i 'm a MOMENT person kasi!

2. "He's not a techie person." -- hehe, ako din! I'm just blessed to have master Archie and Kazumi around to ask...tnx guys! :) But really, im trying to learn the technical side of it, yun nga lang, S-L-O-W-L-Y...;)

3. " He's just a proud and happy teacher who's into photography, always wanting to tell stories off people's faces.." -- PICTURE PERFECT, Manila Bulletin, July 5, 2006.
-- i love this line-- maybe because i can really relate to that..that's me eh, just the simple me, a teacher and a photographer!

I think I've found my soulmate! hehe!

....meet the Bahay Nakpil syndicate, :)...BAHAY NAKPIL is d name of our camera club and yahoo group as well. (you guys can check out our website at www.bahaynakpil.co.nr) Sayang, kulang kami, wala sina Kazumi, Archie and Sir Joey... :(
